309 days in Spain, over 1 year in Sweden

No, this is not a post about my sabbatical. It is about two success stories of our rental transformer service. In critical situations, when original drive transformer is unavailable, our solution helps to keep the production up.

What is our capital spare transformer service?

  • Converter transformer for rent
  • Suitable for many DFE type VFDs
  • Stored in the heart of Europe
  • Dry type technology suitable for indoor or outdoor installation

Transformer rental highlights

We have two highlights when our transformer was quickly sent to site in urgent case where original transformer failed. Our solution is temporary where ‘temporary’ can be anything from several weeks up to a year or more.

309 days in Spain

End of 2021 our transformer was shipped to Spain. The aim was to supply a variable speed drive system for a turbo-compressor. The original transformer was damaged beyond repair. Manufacturing of a new unit takes time. Typical lead time may be 6 months or more. During COVID-19 pandemic, the lead times increased dramatically. Thus, our solution was a perfect fit to bridge the period until new transformer is manufactured and arrives on site. It took exactly 10 days from receiving a purchase order until arriving on site in Spain. That includes waiting time for available truck (special due to oversize), 4 days of transport (restrictions over the weekend), pre-transport testing, paperwork etc. Nowadays we could transport the capital spare unit even faster.

More than 1 year in Sweden

In November 2024 our transformer set on a journey again, this time heading north to Sweden. And it stayed there over a year. The case was critical. After original transformer failed, a substitute was urgently needed. Moreover, it happened at a time when the site was supposed to run at high capacity. Our solution was a good fit and the transformer could supply the drive system for more than a year, keeping the site up and running.

In both cases the rental equipment allowed the continuation of production on site with minimized downtime.

Our solution is designed for emergency situations, major delays of project equipment or for testing purpose.
