Heavy duty trucks go electric thanks to Volvo Trucks

Exciting news from Gothenburg, Sweden

Volvo Trucks is paving the way for e-mobility of heavy duty trucks. As per company’s committment, the pre-sale of Volvo FMX Electric and FH Electric started recently and the production will start in second half of 2022. It follows the successful introduction of Volvo FL Electric in 2019 (see our post [1]).

The full electric fleet of medium and heavy duty trucks is a great news for the modern logistics and also for the environment. The driver can enjoy much reduced vibration and noise level making his daily life more pleasant and healthier. There are no local emissions produced in the cities. And Volvo Trucks also looks into the lifecycle of the battery giving it a second life (e.g. as part of battery storage) and finally a proper recycling at the end of life.

Recent models of Volvo FH are known for their best-in-class fuel economy. With Volvo FH Electric the heavy duty trucks make a huge step towards even more sustainability. We really look forward to meet those trucks on the road.
