Photo contest
We are sure that there are brilliant photographers among our readers. Therefore, we decided to organize a small photo contest. Yeahh!
Do you have any interesting photo regarding variable frequency drives, motors or transformers to share with us? Then please send it to our email below using subject “Photo contest”.
The best photo will be awarded. We will get in touch with the winner. However, the prize shall not be the main motivation. It is about sharing something regarding our common interest.
Three categories are defined:
⇒ Main category: Industrial variable frequency drives, drive components and drive systems
⇒ Category 2: Traction drives, rolling stock, fast charging infrastructure and e-mobility
⇒ Category 3: Power generation and power transmission
Main category: Variable frequency drives, drive components and drive systems
Here are just few photos for inspiration. However, you can submit any photo that is relevant for this category.

Let’s keep it simple so just few rules:
- You shall be the sole author of the photo
- Photo is not protected by copyright of third party
- Photo has appropriate quality and resolution (no thumbnail size, blurry photos etc)
- Photo might be slightly post-processed, but shall still represent the reality and not be misleading
- Photos must not be offensive or inappropriate
- Photo must not show any confidential information and must be suitable to be publicly displayed
- Each participant can submit up to three (3) photos
- Photo is accompanied with a brief description of the equipment
Our photography competition is open to all photography enthusiasts, no matter whether professional photographer or amateur. Most participants are expected to be amateurs so we encourage you to participate even if you takes photos occasionally.
As our passion is about variable frequency drives so the topic of the photos in the main category (Variable frequency drives, drive components and drive system) shall be one of following:
Variable frequency drives, drive components and drive systems
- Variable Frequency Drives (VFD)
- Wind converters
- STATCOMs
- Other Static Frequency Converters (SFC)
- Electric motors and generators
- Transformers (rectifier duty, power, distribution)
- Other drive system components (filters, re-coolers, protection elements etc)
- Any system showing several of above categories
- Plants where power electronics and drives are used
Traction drives, rolling stock, fast charging infrastructure and e-mobility
- Traction drives (power converters, motors, traction transformers)
- Rolling stock (locomotives, high-speed trains, light rail, tram, trolleybus)
- Electric buses, electric trucks
- Fast charging stations
Power generation and transmission
- Power generation (power plants of all kind)
- Substations
- Transmission lines
- Power quality equipment

Add a short descriptions (2-3 sentences) about the subject in the photo and mention also a category.
